Description:
Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)/ Prince George’s County is recruiting a full-time Case Supervisor to train and supervise the work of volunteers advocating for the best interest of abused and neglected children living in foster care. Applicants should have a strong background in working with teenagers who are transitioning to adulthood, working with special needs children and young adults and/or strengthening families experiencing trauma or disruption.

Incumbent will screen potential volunteers, facilitate training and support the volunteers’ day-to-day work including collaboration with the Department of Social Services, the Juvenile Courts, Legal Aid and community resource providers. Incumbent will also assist volunteers and youth in creating transition to adulthood plans that will then be implemented by the youth and the team.

A bachelors or advanced degree in human services or law is required. Two years experience in child welfare field is required. Previous experience in case management, youth development, volunteer coordination, supervision or training is desired. Incumbent will be a motivated self-starter who desires to be part of a dynamic, growing organization and wishes to contribute to its success.

Position requires prior child welfare experience, writing and editing skills, organizational skills, ability to multi-task and respond to competing priorities, willingness to travel within the county and the ability to work flexible hours.

Preference will be given to candidates who can communicate fluently in oral and written Spanish in order to communicate with youth and families for whom English is not a first language.

CASA’s Board of Directors has committed to growing in the next five years to be able to serve every child in the County in need of a CASA volunteer. CASA also works to meet the shifting needs of the population we serve.

This is a full-time, salaried position. Salary range is $48,500-50,500.
