Position Title: Community Outreach Coordinator
Department: Development – CASA FY19-FY21 Grant Project
Reports to: Executive Director
Location: Rolla, MO
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Part-Time (Minimum 32 Hours)

Agency Note:
The following position is contingent on grant funding which may or may not be awarded to CASA of South Central Missouri. Because of time constraints, CASA will interview prior to the funding decision but will not extend an offer until grant notification has been made. If the funding is not approved, the position will not be created. The anticipated date for grant notification is September 30, 2018. Any offer of employment will be made on or after the official notification. If grant funding is not secured, notice will be given to all applicants.

Position Summary:
The Community Outreach Coordinator (COC) will be focused on the identification of prospective community partners, the cultivation and maintenance of new and existing partners, as well as the implementation of awareness events, coordinated with the awareness and recruitment campaigns. The COC will also work with the Assistant Director and Project Coordinator in the creation of each awareness and recruitment campaign. Recruitment and Outreach efforts will be met through coordination of the Assistant Director and the COC, who will also receive referrals from each county Volunteer Coordinator/Supervisor for prospective partnerships and community resource opportunities.

Essential Job Duties:
1. Assist in coordinating community outreach/volunteer recruitment initiatives, including informational sessions.
2. Track volunteer inquiries, maintain regular contact with applicants, and submit progress regularly.
3. Attend Local Events to raise awareness of the opioid epidemic recruit volunteers.
4. Promote diversification of recruitment and outreach efforts.
5. Create awareness throughout the community of drug abuse and its effect on children in the foster care system.
6. Educate the public about CASA of South Central Missouri.
7. Educate prospective and existing partners about CASA and how strategic partnerships can benefit the overall community, especially in regard to the drug/opioid epidemic.
8. Assist with volunteer training classes and continuing education opportunities.
9. Other duties and special projects, as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing, social service-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications and Licensure:
• Must have a valid driver''''s license, car, and valid insurance

Experience and Qualifications:
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with and empower prospective volunteers and partners.
• Ability to work cooperatively with different types of personalities.
• Ability to work within the region and flexibility to work nights and weekends.
• Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within families in crisis relating to child abuse and neglect. Preferred, but not required.
• Computer skills, including: Windows (7-10), Microsoft Office, Internet, and Email.
• Commitment to the CASA program goals and mission.
