Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator – Phelps & Pulaski Counties
Department: Program – CASA FY19-FY21 Grant Project
Reports to: Phelps & Pulaski County Volunteer Supervisors
Location: Rolla, MO & Waynesville, MO
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time (40 Hours)

Agency Note:
The following position is contingent on grant funding which may or may not be awarded to CASA of South Central Missouri. Because of time constraints, CASA will interview prior to the funding decision but will not extend an offer until grant notification has been made. If the funding is not approved, the position will not be created. The anticipated date for grant notification is September 30, 2018. Any offer of employment will be made on or after the official notification. If grant funding is not secured, notice will be given to all applicants.

Position Summary:
The Volunteer Coordinator provides professional staff support to CASA volunteers ensuring that children involved with the CASA program receive sound advocacy and early permanency planning. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for volunteer supervision and coordination of cases.

Essential Job Duties:
1. Supervising, mentoring, and coaching 20-25 Court Appointed Special Advocates
2. New case intake, including new case paperwork (intake form, acceptance of appointment form, contact list) & new case files.
3. Help develop initial case plans and on-going strategies for advocacy.
4. Prepare and distribute assignment documentation.
5. Provide mentoring assistance to new volunteers.
6. Communicate at least monthly with each volunteer about case progress.
7. Receive, review, and distribute volunteer court reports.
8. Provide assistance and consultation for volunteers as needed and when requested.
9. Consult with court personnel and related agencies regarding cases and volunteer needs and assignments.
10. Conduct annual volunteer performance reviews.
11. Assist with volunteer training classes and continuing education opportunities.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Certifications and Licensure:
• Must have a valid driver''''s license, car, and valid insurance

Experience and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in social service-related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to communicate with, supervise and empower volunteers to be effective in their roles. Experience with volunteers given preference.
• Ability to work cooperatively with different types of personalities.
• Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within families in crisis relating to child abuse and neglect.
• Computer skills, including: Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet, Google Suite, and Email.
• Superior communication, presentation, writing and public speaking skills.
• Demonstrated success in community relations.
• Familiarity with child welfare policy advocacy and current challenges facing the region, specifically the opioid crisis.
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
• A strong passion for the organization’s mission of advocacy.
