Non-Profit Executive Director
CASA for Kids of Washington County, PA, a successful, growing Non-profit Child advocacy organization, is looking for an Executive Director to help us increase awareness of our program and raise funds to serve more abused and neglected children. Our program provides staff and volunteer services to abused and neglected children referred to the program by the Washington County Juvenile Court. The Executive Director leads the organization and is primary liaison and reports to the Board of Directors. The Executive Director is responsible for collaborating with the Judicial system, CYS, social services, agencies and the National and State CASA organizations. The Executive Director provides leadership, strategic vision, planning and direction for all CASA for Kids programming. The goal is to manage and lead the organization to ensure that the mission, policies and programs provide the necessary services for the children that it serves. Our program values collaboration, communication and respect. We are looking to hire an Executive Director who aligns with these values.

RESPONSIBILITIES
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT:
•Develop and execute strategies and programs to promote the
organization’s mission.
•Ensure compliance with all National, State and local CASA programs,
policies and practices, and Federal, State and Local laws and
regulations.
•Develop with Board of Directors yearly program and fundraising
goals and review these goals and objectives on a regular basis.
•Attend National and State CASA conferences and meetings.

FUNDRAISING:
•Spearhead fundraising and collaborate with the Board of Directors
and staff in fundraising events, annual donor campaigns and
activities.
•Research, prepare and submit grant proposals and other funding
applications (e.g. National CASA, United Way, County, etc.).
•Develop, monitor and maintain a donor base.
•Ensure that a donor tracking system is maintained and that every
donor is thanked in a timely manner.
•Prepare program reports for funding sources and grantors.

MARKETING AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS:
•Develop and implement a marketing campaign to increase local
awareness of our CASA program.
•Meet with the Director of CYS and chief stakeholders on a regular
basis to discuss any concerns and issues.
•Attend regular networking opportunities in our community.
•Oversee the release of press packets and other media material and
follow up with any media coverage.
•Approve all written public relations material printed or published
by the program.
•Speak at public speaking engagements to raise awareness of the
program and child welfare issues and to recruit volunteers and
increase funding.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS LIAISON:
•Attend all Board of Directors meetings and keep the Board of
Directors apprised of program operations, changes, needs and
concerns.
•Develop new prospective Board of Director members.
•Execute all Board of Director directives, policies and
procedures. prepare and present the Executive Director Report, m
analysis, updates and key issues, changes and concerns. Prepare a
written Executive Director Report detailing program progress for
every board meeting.

FISCAL MANAGEMENT:
•Ensure the day-to-day fiscal operations such as check writing,
•Prepare an annual budget with assistance from the Treasurer and
submit report to the Board of Directors for approval.

PROGRAM OVERSIGHT AND PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT:
•Manage, develop and coach staff, and assess performance to
ensure effective and professional delivery of services in
accordance with program standards.
•Perform all Program Director duties as needed including being
readily available and accessible (“on call”) to all CASA
volunteers for case management support when the program director
is unavailable.
•Ensure that the day to day operations of the office (mail,
email, phones, supplies) are managed.
•Volunteer on a CASA case.
•Supervise at least one CASA volunteer on a case.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, education or a related field is required. a master’s degree is preferred. Candidates will demonstrate strong skills in fiscal management, fundraising, resource development and maintenance, agency and program planning, public relations, board development and problem solving. Previous experience working with volunteers and the child welfare system, a basic knowledge of the local legal community and a working knowledge and clear understanding of child abuse and neglect, families in crisis and other social services skills are given priority.
