Description:
Advocate Supervisor – Permanency & Field Audit Specialist – will motivate, guide and supervise Court Appointed Special Advocates/Guardian ad Litem volunteers (CASA/GALs) as they advocate for the best interests of children who have been abused and/or neglected as defined by the Illinois Juvenile Court Act.

The specialized role supports the programming team by: (1) performing comprehensive file review to ensure the organization is working diligently to obtain positive permanency outcomes for youth in care. (2) manage a caseload of complex files where specialized intervention is necessary to ensure positive permanency outcomes for youth in care. (3) manage the child visit calendar collaboratively with the Program Coordinator and Vice-President of Advocacy & Operations to ensure child visits are being made consistent with program standards. (4) perform planned and random field audits to ensure compliance with program standards. and (5) ensure that the mission of CASA Kane County is carried out.

Qualifications:
• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree required
• Experience working in Illinois Child Welfare system
• Strong understanding of DCFS Policies, Rules and Forms
• A history of achieving positive permanency outcomes for children in the foster care system
• A history of developing strategic plans meant to execute outcomes for children and families in the welfare system
• An understanding of outcome measurements, data and reporting
• Experience working collaboratively or managing other child welfare specialists
• Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and experience working with case management software
• Exceptional organization skills and ability
• Must be a self-starter
• Must be able to work collaboratively within a high level of communication team focused culture
• Excellent technical writing skill and ability
• Must be a high-level communicator
• Able to practice excellent stewardship toward our volunteer base including
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred

Responsibilities:
• Work with advocacy team to identify cases in the abuse and neglect division of the 16th Judicial Circuit that have been in the system for thirty-six (36) months or more and create action plan for cases where the permanency goal can be return home, adoption or legal guardianship
• Work with entire advocacy team to identify cases in the abuse and neglect division of the 16th Judicial Circuit that will remain in the system until the youth in care reaches maturity and create action plan to ensure the youth is aware of all available resources to prepare for adulthood
• Maintain specialized case load for files that require permanency planning that must be expedited
• Coordinate child visit calendar to ensure volunteers are visiting youth in care once per month
• Perform field audits (both random and scheduled) with volunteers out in the field at child visits and other meetings and hearings
• Identify for education team advocates who need additional coaching and/or support after observing them in the field
• Participate and/or lead continuing education sessions with advocates on practices and procedures in the field and permanency outcome planning
• Participate in weekly advocate supervisor meetings
• Review Optima data monthly with Vice-President of Advocacy & Operations and Program Coordinator for compliance with permanency objectives and child visit quota
• Perform all child visits when a volunteer is unable to perform visit
• Attend court hearings. child and family team meetings. administrative case review. mediation. pre-trial conferences and any and all matters related to the CASA/GALs role as needed
• Provide encouragement and praise to volunteers
• Assist and attend CASA Kane County programming and advancement events
