Job Title: Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator

Hours: Full Time (40 hours) – will require occasional nights & weekends

Description: The Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator reports to the Chief Communications Officer of the agency and is responsible for recruitment of volunteers from the first point of interest to training. The focus is to make the community aware of CASA through a variety of outreach efforts and to be a consistent point of contact and source of communication connecting CASA and the greater community.

Mission of the Organization: CASA provides a powerful voice for youth in the child welfare system through a unique one-on-one relationship with trained and supervised court appointed volunteer advocates. We work to ensure that these youth are safe, have a permanent home and an opportunity to thrive.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work with Chief Communications Officer to determine goals, priorities and policies as they relate to recruitment and retention of volunteers
• Explore a wide range of opportunities for recruitment
• Explore ways to recruit for diversity – special attention and focus given to the recruitment of more male, Hispanic/Latino and bilingual volunteers
• Respond promptly to volunteer inquiries and maintain contact until training
• Data entry of volunteer’s contact and demographic information in the volunteer database
• Collaborate with Training Department in the screening of new prospective volunteers
• Collaborate with Training Department with the first night of each training session (every other month)
• Contribute and help assist social media campaigns and other marketing efforts
• Assist the Chief Communications Officer with press releases, stories and other public relations material for the media on a regular basis
• Conduct Information Sessions on a regular basis (at least two times a month)
• Make monthly presentations at Social Services (last Tuesday of every Month – except December)
• Spearhead speaking opportunities with service organizations, religious organizations and corporations
• Act as liaison with the Diversity Committee (meet 4-6 times a year) and assist in coordinating their yearly volunteer recruitment and/or retention event
• Maintain the “Volunteer Crew Database” for special projects and events
• Maintain and analyze statistics as they pertain to tracking volunteer inquiries, referral sources, information session attendance, training sign-ups and outcomes
• Conduct Holiday Gift Drive with the solicitation, collection and wrapping of 2,000+ gifts
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree, Public Relations emphasis (or experience) preferred
• Commitment to CASA’s work with abused and neglected children
• Outstanding interpersonal skills to include the ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, and stakeholders
• Previous public speaking experience
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously
• Must be computer literate in MS Office, Excel, Google Drive and social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and NextDoor
• Willingness to accept and try new ideas or adapt to new methods and conditions
• Valid driver’s license and car insurance
• Contribute to a positive work force

Salary: $42,000 - $45,000 DOE
