  Description:
CASA Sunset Hawaiian Luau Set for May 19th! Aloha! Dust off your ukulele and shake out your grass skirt in preparation for CASA of Talbot & Dorchester Counties''''Hawaiian Luau on Saturday evening, May 19, 2012. Under a lovely tent by the water''''s edge at Bill Davenport and Bruce Wiltsie''''''''s enchanting Hemmersley Farm at Emerson Point near St. Michaels, you can sway to the beat of Hawaiian drums and enjoy mouth-watering aromas from fire pits while watching the sun set on the Chesapeake Bay. Our annual benefit raises funds to support CASA’s work with Talbot and Dorchester County children under court protection due to maltreatment. Event co-chairs and CASA Board members Christina Hoff and Laurie Dennis are planning this year’s annual fundraising event to celebrate the family, or ohana in Hawaiian culture. Through ohana Hawaiian society cares about the health of the community as a whole. At CASA, we share a sense of fulfilling society’s most fundamental obligation by making sure a qualified, compassionate adult will fight for and protect every child’s right to be safe, loved, and treated with dignity in a permanent home. The Hawaiian Luau on May 19th promises to be unique, exciting, and fun! Known for their artistic creativity and joie de vivre, Hoff and Dennis will be joined by Mary Lou McAllister and Bruce Wiltsie in creating the atmosphere, entertainment, and cuisine for a fantastic evening to remember. They envision the location at Emerson Point coming alive with the forces of nature - earth, water, fire and sky - as the perfect backdrop for this magical event. Tiki lights will guide guests to the grassy beach overlooking the Chesapeake Bay at Emerson Point, while hula dancers, rhythmic drummers, powerful fire spinners, outriggers, Hawaiian music, exotic Mai Tais, and luau cuisine will be sure to delight. Invitations will be mailed in early April, but you may call 410-822-2866 now to make your reservation for a magical evening. Your support will help us to make a difference in a child''''s life. Tickets are $150 per person and sponsorship opportunities exist. Tuck a hibiscus blossom behind your ear and come nattily attired ala Hawaii in sarongs, surf attire, or floral shirts. We look forward to welcoming you in the spirit of aloha. Mahalo!
